ROOM TO EXPAND emerged from a discussion between teachers and curators Akiko Bernhöft, Mathilde ter Heijne, Christoph Manz, Jimmy Robert, and Kilian Seyfried from the UdK fine arts faculty. It was an attempt to give time-based works more space and time at the end of the winter semester, as the stablished examination and exhibition formats at the UdK do not always offer the appropriate platform. At the same time, it was also too become a platform to meet and collaborate with students and teachers outside of the faculty.
